My name is Serena, and I am so glad you’re here. Whether you are navigating life transitions, seeking deeper self-understanding, or simply looking for someone to walk alongside you through the complexities of life, I am here to support you. I bring over several years of experience working with youth, children, and young adults. My work centres on supporting BIPOC and East-Asian individuals, and as an East Asian therapist myself, I understand the challenges of balancing cultural expectations and personal growth. I honour your courage in taking this step, and I am committed to helping you express and understand all aspects of yourself.
In our sessions, you can expect me to be fully attuned to your experience as we gently uncover past patterns in a collaborative way. My approach is depth-oriented, culturally integrative, and tailored to meet your unique individual needs. Together, we will draw on client-centred approaches as we move toward your therapeutic goals.
Perhaps you feel the weight of expectations—family, culture, work—pulling you in different directions. Perhaps you struggle with boundaries, self-doubt, and the fear of letting others down. Together, we will work towards a greater sense of well-being, and I look forward to the privilege of being a part of your journey.

Hello and welcome! I’m Jill, a first-generation immigrant and therapist fluent in both English and Mandarin. My work is rooted in a relational, humanistic, and integrative approach, drawing from parts work, IFS, attachment theory, and emotion-focused practices. I believe therapy is a place where you can come home to yourself — with all the complexity, beauty, and challenges that make you who you are.
Much of my passion lies in supporting people through transitions in identity, relationships, grief and loss, family dynamics, emotional regulation, career paths and more. I know from my own lived experience how overwhelming and isolating these struggles can feel, and how healing it is to finally have a safe and compassionate space to explore them.
In our work together, my hope is to help you reconnect with your inner strengths, heal parts of yourself that carry old pain, and move toward relationships — with yourself and others — that feel safe, genuine, and nourishing.
It would be my honour to walk alongside you on your journey of growth and healing. I warmly invite you to reach out when you feel ready!
If you have any questions or concerns, or if none of the time slots work for you, please feel free to reach out at JillLiTherapy@gmail.com - I’ll try my best to accommodate.

Do you feel like you’re constantly performing, meeting everyone’s expectations while feeling disconnected from your own? Whether it’s the quiet pressure of perfectionism, the loop of OCD, or the weight of cultural “shoulds,” you don’t have to carry the mental load alone. If you find yourself thinking deeply but feeling emotionally stuck, I’m here to help you turn that insight into real, lasting change.
As an East Asian therapist, I understand the nuance of moving between worlds. Navigating the space between cultures often comes with a unique set of invisible rules and family expectations. I provide a space where you don’t have to explain the nuances of your identity or heritage—I meet you there, offering therapy in both English and Mandarin (普通话) to ensure nothing is lost in translation.
Our work is collaborative and integrative. We’ll use evidence-based tools like CBT and ERP to tackle unhelpful patterns, while drawing on EFT and Psychodynamic therapy to understand your deeper emotional needs and relationship history. Therapy is a place where you can finally put down the ‘performance.’ Whether you are navigating gender, culture, or complex relationships, I offer a warm, bilingual space where you are respected and understood. Feel free to reach out and schedule a free 20-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
Feel free to email me and I will try my best to accommodate the time at EdwardLinTherapy@gmail.com.
