Expressive Arts Psychotherapy

Person-centered, expressive and processing arts therapy sessions. In our sessions, we explore emotions, thoughts, and experiences through various creative modalities like painting, drawing, writing, music, movement, and more. You don't need to have any artistic skills to participate – the focus is on self-expression and personal growth.


Walk & Talk Therapy

I offer Local Walk and Talk sessions which is in-person OR Distance Walk and Talk which is by phone.
Please note: All new clients for walk&talk require an Initial Consultation and Intake Session before booking their first Walk and Talk.

Welcome to visiting Amelia Deng (AD) Psychotherapy. Thanks for trusting me for being your therapist. Therapy might be a new experience for you and I understand starting it may feel daunting. I’m honored that I can be here for you during this journey.

My name is Amelia and I am the founder of this Psychotherapy Clinic. I am a member in good standing of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CPRO). I have over 6 years of experience working with adults presenting a variety of mental health difficulties due to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship challenges, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transition issues. In therapy sessions, you can expect me using integrative treatment modality that focuses on emotional processing combined with a strength-based and culturally competent approach that is informed by my past experience working with different populations in Canada, China, and the United States.

Maybe you are feeling lost, confused, or stuck in life. Life can really be a process with unexpected twists and turns. I believe that we all have the inner strength to achieve our values and live meaningfully despite such challenges. My work with you will focus on your journey discovering your own strengths and living the direction of life you decide on.

Areas of focus: Individual: Anxiety (high functioning anxiety, perfectionism, phobias, death anxiety), Depression, Grief and Loss, Trauma (PTSD and Complex PTSD), Relationship Issues, Family Conflicts. Couples: Communication Issues, Attachment Issues, Intimacy and Connection.​

Therapeutic approaches and modalities: Integrative and holistic psychotherapy, with a strong emphasis on Emotion-Focused Therapy, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, and Creative Arts Therapy.

Accepting New Clients offers Online and In-Person Sessions.

Locations: Our North York Clinic’s location is: Suite 302, 250 Sheppard Ave E, North York. (10minutes away from Sheppard- Yonge Station).

Downtown location (only on Tuesday mornings): 15 Wellesley St. W. Suite 214, Toronto, ON, M4Y 0G7 (1 min from Wellesley Station).

Availability: weekdays and weekends during the day and evenings. Tuesdays to Saturdays 11am to 7pm

Please note that I am only at the downtown location on Tuesday mornings and all the other times I am in-person or hybrid at the North York location.

I work with Adults, Couples, Families, and Groups. Languages: English and Mandarin.

Trainings and Experience​: -Member in good standing of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CPRO).

-EFT course with Jeanne Watson.

-ACT beginner training certificate with Russ Harris from Psychwire.

-Trauma - focused ACT training certificate with Russ Harris from Psychwire.

-Emotionally-focused Therapy Attachment Science training certificate with Sue Johnson from Psychwire.

-Psychotherapy Matters Network, can request psychiatrical assessments and follow up sessions for clients, can accompany clients in assessment sessions with the psychiatrist for diagnosis, recommended medication, psychiatrically-informed ADHD assessment, and follow up sessions.
